File Monitor

The monitoring of both files and file systems on servers and workstations is one of the most elementary monitoring tasks in an IT infrastructure. However there is still a relatively high number of problems that occur in this field, for example because of full hard disks. The consequences are sometimes severe system failures or loss of data.

Standard settings are predefined  

All Impulsus isymon® editions are provided with an “isymon standard“ configuration which includes predefined standard settings for the Filesystem Monitor. This minimizes the configuration efforts in standard environments.  

Parser technology with regular expressions  

Since the Filesystem Monitor includes parser technology the file systems, files and directories to be checked can be found based on a formula. The use of regular expressions for pathnames and file names makes the checking process easy. Thus it is possible to find every day new files which show a new date in the file name or it is possible to search a specific type of file in the entire directory structure.  

Size detection  

Impulsus isymon® is able to detect the used space of files, directories, or file systems and react to it.  

Detecting the used or free space  

Impulsus isymon® is able to detect the used or free space in directories and file systems and react to it. In file systems it is also possible to check for a certain percentage of space that either may be or is supposed to be free or used. Alternatively, the limit values can also be given in bytes, KB, MB, or GB.
